NOFA-NY and The Neighborhood Farm Share Program

The Neighborhood Farm Share Program provides limited-income residents of Buffalo and Rochester with financial support to participate in local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs.  This financial support is made possible by a generous donation from the Rupp Family Foundation, the USDA Farmers Market PromotionProgram, and participating CSA farms through NOFA-NY.

The program is available to residents of the Buffalo and Rochester areas who qualify, see the table below. The total gross yearly income of all your household members combined must be at or below these levels. If you are a dependent on someone else’s tax return who does not meet these levels, you do not qualify for Neighborhood Farm share.

Participants receive up to a $100 reduction in cost for a CSA share from a local farm.  The participant pays the remainder of the cost of the share, which for Porter Farm (a certified organic farm) is $140.

Participants who do not need a full $100 reduction in the share cost are invited to pay as much of the cost of the CSA that they are able.  Please indicate if you are able to pay more on your application.  By requesting only the amount of assistance that you need, you are enabling the Neighborhood Farm Share Program to serve as many people as possible.
